DO's & DONT's to Properly Handle DEF

Only fill the designated DEF tank with DEF Fluid . The tank and nozzle are clearly marked.
Keep your DEF contaminate free from dust and dirt.
Only use approved DEF equipment for dispensing and filling of diesel exhaust fluid .
Protective clothing is not necessary while handling DEF; however, eye protection is recommended.
DEF Freezes at 12F. Frozen DEF does not harm the integrity of the product, simply thaw for use.
Only use API Certified DEF that has been delivered in dedicated bulk transports or sealed & labeled DEF packaging.
Keep your DEF stored properly to maximize its life span of 18 months or more.

Do not fill diesel exhaust fluid into the Diesel tank.
Do not fill Diesel into the DEF Fluid tank.
DEF is not hazardous; however, avoid getting DEF on your clothes or skin, if you do, remove easily with just water to prevent irritation of sensitive skin.
Clean up spilled DEF with water, as the area may be slippery.
Do not mix DEF with water or other substances, especially diesel fuel.
